Follow Forty Twitter CMS Gurus In Three Clicks
And the ship’s wise men

That the whole wide world is watchin’.
- WHEN THE SHIP COMES IN
So, you want to follow the CMS world on Twitter. How about the ability to follow the creme de la creme of the CMS Twitterati in a couple of clicks. Well, my friend, you’ve struck gold. [UPDATE: Even more gold than promised. The list is growing. More than 40]
First, here’s is my list. I’m sure I’ve forgotten people so many apologies and DM me to get added or if I’ve spelt something wrong. I’m not including any CMS vendors here. I am including people who work for vendors but don’t use Twitter to sell. You can get a list of vendors on Twitter on the Gilbane blog. So, next step is to copy the nicely formatted list at the bottom of this post, and paste them into Twitterator as shown in the screenshot below. You need to give them your Twitter creds, sadly. James promised he’ll write me a bulk following program that uses OAuth. Don’t worry if you’re already following some of the users. It handles these pretty well.
[UPDATE: Forget Twitterator! TweetML is far better. Use this link: http://tweepml.org/McBoof-s-CMS-Gurus/]
And here is the list in a nice cut and paste format. Stick them into your clipboard, and off to Twitterator. That’s it. Happy following. Don’t forget to delete me if you only like serious CMS chatter. Finally, if you want some of these people’s blogs, have a look at the OPML Feed of my blogroll, or the large list compiled by @proops.

Thank you for the mention, and for putting together this rogue’s gallery — excuse me, this distinguished list of experts. A distinguished list indeed.
Thanks for the list Jon! Personally I would leave out the top 3 out as they’re basically dumps of RSS feeds and the interesting thing about Twitter is the frequent dump of thoughts and links. (I known that that there are hardcore twitterazzi who say they don’t need RSS anymore, but I’m not mentally ready for that yet)
Yeah, I hear you. I thought about it. However, both @cmswatch and @cmswire do actually do more than RSS feeds. We’ve got both Tony and Brice hiding in the wings. I do wish they’d have their own accounts, though. You’re 100% correct about @the451group. Pure broadcast, no followers. So they’re off the list. Good news, Bryan from @cmsreport, you’re in! I’m also not quite sure about ditching RSS for Twitter. Getting close …
Update! Update! read all about it!

I am now an OpenText blogger!
Thanks for the mention and i wish you a great weekend.
Great that I made the list, but puf seemed more shocked about it that I did (don’t know why, he is sooo good!)
Jon, thanks for adding @cmsreport to the list. I think this list, whether I’m included or not, is a great idea. I’m anxious to expand my Twitter horizons and follow those gurus on the list that are new to me.
Hi Jon,
thanks for putting the list together!
Hey,
Thanks for including me on the list. It’s good to be in a gang. Wait, I mean a club. I mean associated with a group of highly regarded professionals.
Hey Jon. Thanks for the mention, hard to compare myself to many of these bright minds.
Dirk
I think you forgot us.
@reddotcmsblog – Unofficial RedDot CMS blog (aka Open Text Web Solutions Suite)
Hello John !
Many thanks to add me in yout list.
I’m very proud to be at the same level as other ECM BIG BOSS.
Due to that +10 followers in one day. Thanks a lot!
Hey… I think I’m the junior of this list ! Wouhouhou!!!
Jon, thanks for the inclusion and putting the list together, excellent stuff.
Hi Jon,
I was wondering why so many industry people started following me (was getting a little tired of the porn stars and SEO experts
).
Thanks for adding my name. I feel privileged to be among this crowd. Gives me the push I needed to tweet a little more.
barb
You got to love those SEO experts and porn stars. Amazingly, this list posting got a retweet from some Cosmetic Surgery Guru: http://twitter.com/CosmSurgeryGuru/statuses/2801092371 – some bot is very confused.
@julesdw Imagine the pressure being on this list bring to my tweets. I used to be able to tweet about anything. But now apparently has to be meaningful and about CMS. Pfff….
By the way: where do we give our acceptance speech? I’d tweet it, but 140 characters seems a bit on the low side given all the long names that people use on twitter these days.
All acceptance speeches should be uploaded to YouTube along with subtitles. Not more than 10 minutes per speech, and no crying. I reserve the right to use these speeches for any marketing or promotional material.
I wish I’d be mentioned as an EPiServer CMS expert in the list, but that is most probably (well, certainly) because I love being on lists of people who know what they’re doing!
Another (not useless!) list compiled by you, appreciate it!
You’re in. Until LBi and Hallvarsson & Halvarsson end up in some global pitch against each other. Then you’re off
I love your blog posts, including the EPiServer specific ones. And your last one on Fixed Price. Although, as you allude to, Fixed Price/Variable Scope is fine. Fixed Price/Fixed Scope is where the dragons hide.
I think you just gave me the topic of my next post on pricing!
Fixed price, variable scope is indeed fine – that’s got SCRUM written all over it! As you said, fixed price/fixed scope is where it all (potentially) goes to h*ll!
And it’s even worse for the poor full service agencies. We get paid a wad of cash to figure out strategically what to build. But before we figure this out, we need to know what the build cost is going to be. I’ve got lots of posts/rants about this to come too. Looking forward to yours.
Jon thanks for the mention!
Jon- Thanks, this is a great service and huge help to me as I’m now tweeting individually from @TonyByrne.
Cheers!
Excellent. You’re on the list. Right near the top …
Many thanks for including me on your list, Jon. I’m honored to be in such esteemed company!
Thanks for including me!
Hey! MKSE.com Swedish / Nordic CMS news are Twitter present @martineden (Martin Edenström – Editor).
This is great! Thanks for sharing! Also, thanks for introducing me to TweepML…
It is cool. But, sadly, I think Twitter Lists have replaced this. The list is here if you want to use that instead:
