My First Embedded Google Wave
And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son?
And what did you hear, my darling young one?
I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin’,
Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world,
- A HARD RAIN’S A-GONNA FALL
So I got my Google Wave account about a week ago, having requested it the day after Google I/O. I think Wave might be huge. But that’s a discussion for another time.
I’ve used the wavr plugin to embed my first wave. You’ll need a Wave Sandbox account to see it. And it doesn’t like Internet Explorer much either. If you can see it, join in the fun! I’m McBoof AT wavesandbox.com if you want to play.In theory, this is a public wave so anyone with an account can join in. To make it public, I added public@a.wavesandbox.com to the wave as instructed by some FAQs.
[UPDATE: You actually need to add public@a.gwave.com - that makes the Wave visible to all users. However, it seems people can't edit the embedded wave. However, they can see and edit the wave through the Google Wave interface. Once they've edited it, they can edit it via the embedded version. Weird. What am I doing wrong?]
For those that can’t see it, here is a screenshot of this page just after I posted it.
Don’t bother commenting. Use the wave. Unless you don’t have a Sandbox account. In which case, we’re not interested in you here
I do have an account, its open in Firefox but I can’t see the thing! Tried it on my blog too, not yet!
Odd, you should see it. What do you see? Maybe post a link to a screenshot? What do you see if you’re not logged in? I’ve had about 10 people manage to add to it.
It’s difficult to find experienced people about this topic, however, you sound like
you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
